I travel often myself, and I always want to keep my gear as light as possible — there’s rarely time to stop and change lenses while on the move.
On a trip, the weather shifts, things go wrong, and plans don’t always work out. But leaving the camera behind because the gear feels like a burden would be a real loss.
I believe a camera and lens only have value when they’re taken out, used, and truly lived with. That’s why we develop lenses that you’ll want to choose in exactly those moments — the kind of lens that makes you say, “This is the one I’m taking on my trip.” If you take it everywhere, wear it in, and shoot with it until it feels like part of the journey itself, there is no greater reward for us as developers.
